Chiropractic for your Child: a simple, safe way to keep your child healthy

In the world we live in, statistics are everything and everywhere.  Data here, data there,,,data everywhere. Well, this is true with the safety of chiropractic care in children as well.  A study in Denmark  showed children adjusted between 2004 and 2012 had no injuries or adverse effects to the children.  Another  study of peer reviewed articles in 2015 showed that chiropractic was very safe for infants, toddlers and children.

Chiropractors are licensed and are trained on the methods to treat newborns as well as geriatric patients.  The youngest patient I have adjusted was days old and their family was delighted to have him checked so quickly after delivery.  After all, delivery thru the vaginal canal or thru c-section can be traumatic to the child's spine.    Effects of the trauma can be misalignment of the upper cervical vertebrae or other parts of the spine which can impede the child's development or cause pain and suffering.

Common complaints of children or babies that are suffering with spinal misalignments are colic, sleeplessness, irritability, trouble latching on, constipation, ear infections, tight muscles, and more.  And, antibiotics, though life saving at times, should be given so infrequently.  They have been linked to asthma when given to children under the age of one year old.  So, try chiropractic FIRST.

We all want our children to thrive, childhood is a time of fun, play and happiness.  But, spinal misalignments can cause so many children to suffer and be less than thriving.  This is so sad; especially when chiropractic care is so easy on the child, so inexpensive compared to many other medical procedures, and do not involve surgery or drugs.

Dr. JoAnna Fasulo loves treating children and watching them improve with each visit.  And, because children generally respond so quickly to care, the amount of visits they require are so much less than an adult.
